On 18th and 19th April took place the 8th Silla city (Valencia, Spain) pinball tournament. A weekend with friends that shares this century and a half historical machines hobby, and this year A.R.C.A.D.E. was there.
A great chance to enjoy and luxuriate with the magnificient colection that ACPMYR keeps; many and good machines in competition and free play modes.
A lot of people went to the tournament from various places of Spain: Madrid, Bilbao, Salamanca, Barcelona, Valencia, Alicante, Mallorca, etc… and we were lucky to concur and share impressions with our friends from Arcade Vintage that joined to the good atmosphere that this kind of events usually have.
The competition started at 10 a.m. with a qualifying round; 44 participants that choose 8 modern machines and 8 classics from the organization selection and only one play to each one.
This was the tournament schedule: The senior qualifying was on Saturday (the finals qualifying round was at afternoon Saturday), with a lunch break (Paella Valenciana as it should be). Sunday morning started with funny activities and mini tournaments: to play Congo with the right hand on the left flipper and the left hand in the right one, 2 people playing Canasta 86 at the same time and a maximum score competition at Theatre of Magic with only one ball. Thereupon were played the mini junior tournament and the senior grand finals to close the event.
We don’t want to end this little chronicle without thank the organizers and all the implied people that worked in this annual tournament that makes the dreams of all the lovers of the pinballs come true. Best regards to Vicente, Julio, Álvaro, Carlos, Manuel and all the people that helped to keep alive the pinballs in Spain one more year .
Thanks!
